GST Registration
Get a GSTIN so you can charge and claim input tax.
GST registration is mandatory above the turnover threshold for your state and supply type, and voluntary below it. Registration is what lets you charge GST on invoices and claim credit on your purchases.

Common questions
When must I register?
Broadly, once turnover crosses ₹40 lakh for goods or ₹20 lakh for services — lower in special-category states. Some supplies, such as inter-state supply and e-commerce, require registration regardless of turnover.
Should I register voluntarily?
It depends on your customers. If they are registered businesses that want input credit, registering makes you easier to buy from. If you sell to consumers, it may only add compliance.
