Since April 2021 a company may only spend CSR money through an organisation registered with the ROC in Form CSR-1. Section 8 companies, registered trusts and societies with 12A and 80G qualify, generally with a three-year track record. The form is short but must be certified by a practising professional and signed with a DSC — and the CSR registration number is what corporate funders now ask for first.
