BIS Hallmarking Registration for Jewellers

Since hallmarking became compulsory in notified districts, a jeweller must register with BIS before selling gold jewellery, and each piece carries a six-digit HUID from a BIS-recognised assaying centre. Registration is a one-time, online step keyed to the outlet; the assaying is per batch.
